Mode of Transmission
- Transmitted by tsetse flies
Signs and Symptoms
- Fever
- Anaemia
- General weakness
- Reduced feed intake
- Loss of weight
- Death
- Reduce milk yield
Prevention and Control
- Good hygiene
- Resistant breeds of animal
- Use of antibiotics
- Prevent multiplication of flies around farms
B. Coccidiosis
It affects poultry.
Mode of Transmission
- Contact with infected birds
- Contact with contaminated food
- Contact with contaminated water
Signs and Symptoms
- Blood stained diarrhea
- Ruffled feathers
- Loss of appetite
- Loss of weight
- Reduced productivity
- Death
Prevention and Control
- Good hygiene
- Use of coccidiostat (drug)
- Avoid overcrowding
