TOPIC: Consonant Sounds /k/and /g/
Description of the the Consonant /k/
To pronounce /k/, the back of the tongue makes contact with the soft palate and this contact obstructs the flow of air. On immediate release, the air pressure escapes with the usual pop sound. There is no vibration of vocal cords since the glottis is wide open. This consonant is, therefore a voiceless velar plosive.

‘k’ as in keg, kit, king
‘c’ as in car, carry, come
‘ch’ as in character, architect, archive
‘cc’ as in account, accuracy

To pronounce /g/, the back of the tongue makes contact with the velum.
