Description of the Consonant Sound /θ/
This is a voiceless dental fricative sound. The following words are some examples: Anthem, thick, both, bath, north, sheath, thorn, theme, thank, breath, wrath. Consonant /ð/ is a voiced dental fricative. The tip of the tongue is partially trapped between the front set of teeth. The vocal cords vibrate as the sound is made. It has ‘th’ as a spelling symbol, e.g. then, that, this, those, thee, bathe, writhe, loathe, soothe, clothe, than, etc.
