SECTION A: OBJECTIVE TEST

ALLOCATION OF MARKS: ½ mark each = 30 marks

 

SECTION B: ESSAY

ALLOCATION OF MARKS: 10 marks each = 30 marks

1. (a) Definition of Agriculture

Agriculture is defined as the art and science of cultivating the land for planting crops and rearing livestock for man and industrial use. 

(2 marks awarded for any correct definition of agriculture = 2 marks)

1. (b) Housing Requirements for Snails

  • Constructed pots or drums
  • Hutches or cages/boxed fenced pens
  • Piled motor tyres with net lid
  • Plantain plantation fenced with net wire 

(Any 3 answers at 1 mark each for a total of 3 marks)

1. (c) Importance of Agriculture

  • It serves as a source of food.
  • Source of medicinal herbs
  • Provision of income
  • Development of rural areas
  • Provision of recreation and sports
  • It serves as source of fuel for cooking
  • It serves as source of feed
  • Provides materials for shelter
  • Provides materials for foreign exchange
  • Provision of clothing materials
  • Provision of means of transportation, etc.
