SECTION A: OBJECTIVE TEST

ALLOCATION OF MARKS: ¼ mark each = 5 marks

 

SECTION B: ESSAY

ALLOCATION OF MARKS: 2½ marks = 5 marks in total

1. Identify five ways of acquiring citizenship

Five ways of acquiring citizenship include the following:

  • By birth
  • By conferment or honour
  • By marriage
  • By registration or application
  • By descent

(½ mark each = 2½ marks)

TOTAL = 2½ MARKS

 

2.(a) Differentiate between rights and duties.

The difference between rights and duties is that rights are claims of an individual as a citizen of a country while duties are obligations and actions which are expected from citizens in return for the right of freedom they enjoyed as a citizen of a country.

(b) Outline three (3) types of obligation.

Types of obligations include the following:

  • Financial obligation
  • Economic obligation
  • Social obligation
  • Civic obligation

(Any three at ½ mark each = 1½ marks)

TOTAL = 2½ MARKS
