The following are the objectives of Social Studies:
- To help students to be aware of their environment and the people in it.
- To help students to acquire skills and knowledge.
- To help in developing students into useful adulthood and responsible citizens.
- To help students understand their culture, how it evolved and to appreciate the culture of other members of their societies.
- To help students understand their physical environment better and thereby play their roles towards its protection and sustenance.
- To help students to be aware of the resources of our environments, their uses and how to conserve them.
(Any three of the above objectives, correctly stated, attract 1 mark each)
