Explaining the parables, Jesus said that the seed is the word of God. The Sower is the Preacher or Minister.
The seeds that fall along the path are those who heard the word of but do not understand it and so Satan takes it away from their hearts.
Those that fall on the rocky ground are those who hear the word of God but fall away because of persecution.
Those that fall among thorns are those that hear the word but the lust for pleasure makes them to fall away.
Those that fall on good ground are the people that hear the word, grow to maturity and become productive.
