Meaning of Family
A family is define as a group of people closely related by blood, marriage, adoption or other form of relationship people agree upon. It is also defined as the smallest social unit of the society; it consist of a man his wife/wives and child/children. A family is formed when a man and a woman legally agree to live together as husband and wife.
It is the smallest unit of the society through which children are added to the society and thereby the increase in the society’s population. There are two basic types of families namely:
Kinds of Family
Basically, there are two kinds of family, namely;
- The nuclear family
- The extended family
The Nuclear Family
A nuclear family is made up of a man, his wife/wives and their children.
