Description of Vowel /əu/
This is a closing diphthong. In the production of the sound, the glide begins with the centre of the tongue and moves to a position between the centre and the back with a slight closing movement of the lower jaw. The shape of the lips is neutral at the beginning of the articulation but becomes rounded at the end.

This is also a closing diphthong. The tongue glide starts at a point between the centre and the back with a closing movement of the lower jaw. The gradual tongue glide towards /u/ agrees with the closing movement of the jaw.
