Meaning of Basic Concepts

Belief is the certainty and faith that something exists or is true. For instance, we all believe that there is a Supreme Being that rules and controls the universe.

Customs are things or norms that are observed by people in a particular society because it is traditional. That means it is a way of life.

Tradition can be defined as the beliefs, customs or ways of doing something that have existed for a long time. It can also be seen as the customary pattern or thought or action.

Culture is the embodiment of traditions, customs and beliefs.

Culture is dynamic entails that some aspects of culture can change over time.

Cultural lag is when inferior culture is steadily fading away by collapsing into a superior culture.
