The causes of corruption in the society can be grouped into two categories: remote or indirect causes and immediate or direct causes.
The remote causes of corruption in any human society include hunger and hardship, economic background and social orientation. The immediate causes of corruption are greed, inefficient legal system, lack of adequate laws to checkmate corruption, lack of accountability, etc.
