I am sure you wanted to ask what an election is. All elections are democratic in nature, because election is a democratic process of choosing a leader or a representative in government or any organisation who makes decisions on behalf of the people who they represent. An election is simply a process of selecting a political leader such as a president, governor, senator, member of the House of Representatives or a local government chairman. It is also a process where eligible voters (usually adults 18 years and above) cast their ballot in the choice of a political leader. Election is the legitimate means of changing a government in a democratic state. This means that it the constitutionally accepted procedure for changing a government or choosing a new leader. A leader who comes to power without being elected is regarded as illegitimate. This process is usually done periodically, usually every four years in most countries.
