SECTION A: OBJECTIVE TEST
ALLOCATION OF MARKS: ½ mark each = 30 marks
SECTION B: ESSAY
ALLOCATION OF MARKS: 10 marks each = 30 marks
1. (a) Mention any three (3) classes of food and state the function of each.
- Carbohydrates – These are energy-giving food.
- Proteins – These are body-building food concerned with the growth and repair of worn-out parts of the body.
- Fats and oil – They are also energy-giving foods that serve as insulators against changes in temperature.
- Vitamins – Vitamins aid digestion and sound health.
- Mineral salts – Helps in bone and teeth formation, and cellular activities.
(Any class with its correct function at 1 mark each = 3 marks)
1. (b) State any four (4) side effects of drugs.
- They weaken the body.
- They shorten one’s life span.
- They can damage the internal organs of the body.
- They can bring about a lack of concentration.
