ALLOCATION OF MARKS: 5 marks each = 10 ÷ 2 = 5 marks
1.(a) Force is any action that moves an object or alters its uniform motion in a given direction.

(b) Uses of Force
- It is needed to make objects move.
- It prevents car wheels from slipping.
- It makes it possible for the car to stop or slow down when the brakes are applied.
- Friction between the sole of our feet and the ground makes it possible for us to walk.
- Magnetic force is used to repair watches.
- Magnetic force is applied to separate iron dust from solid non-magnetic substances like sulphur and sand.
