SECTION B: ESSAY
ALLOCATION OF MARKS: 10 marks each = 30 marks
1. (a) What is technology?
Technology is basically a systematic way of doing things or solving problems for the good of mankind.
Technology is the processes and products that make life easy and stress-free.
Technology is the application of scientific knowledge to the production of machines, tools and diverse products.
(2 marks for a correct definition of technology)
NB: Teacher should award marks for any correct definition.
1. (b) List four (4) importance/benefits of technology.
- Science and technology improve the living standard of the people.
- It improves and increases the standard of education.
- It makes people more creative and self-reliant.
- It increases the economic development of a country.
- It provides shelter and security.
- It provides us with modern ways of solving problems.
- Technology has improved the working environment.
