ALLOCATION OF MARKS: ½ mark each = 30 marks
SECTION B: ESSAY
ALLOCATION OF MARKS: 30 marks
1.(a) Technology is basically a systematic way of doing things or solving problems for the good of mankind.
(2 marks for any good definition given)
1.(b) Products of technology:
Cars, Aeroplanes, Trains, Gas cooker, Computer, Mobile phones, washing machines, etc.
(3 marks for any 3 products given)
1.(c) Properties of ceramics:
- They are brittle: They can easily break into pieces.
- They can easily be molded.
- They can withstand very high temperatures.
- They are malleable when mixed with water.
- They are resistant to corrosion.
- They have a high melting point.
(3 marks for any 3 good properties given)
(d) Uses of glass:
- Glass is used in making window materials.
- Glass is used in making mirrors, eye sunglasses, household materials, etc.
