Definition of Networking
Networking is the process of interconnecting two or more computers to facilitate resource sharing and information transfer. Computers within a network can establish connections through various mediums, including cables, telephone lines, wireless links, or satellites. To participate in a network, each computer must be equipped with a network interface card (NIC).
In broader terms, networking can be described as a collection of computers and devices interconnected by communication channels, enabling users to communicate and share resources seamlessly.

1. Local Area Network (LAN)
A LAN is one of the foundational network categories, characterized by its simplicity and relatively limited coverage area. LANs connect computers within close proximity, often confined to a single building or a small cluster of buildings.

WANs, on the other hand, span extensive geographical regions, such as entire countries or the entire globe.
