Meaning of Information Processing
Information processing is the transformation of data in a way that can be observed. It encompasses everything that changes in the universe, from the movement of an object (like a falling rock) to printing a text file from a computer.
Information processing refers to how computers and other digital devices handle digitized information, collectively known as information technology (IT). This includes business software, operating systems, computers, networks, and mainframes. Information processing systems can be sequential or parallel, centralized or decentralized.

Procedures for Information Processing
Digital information, represented in binary form, is often called digital information. Modern information systems involve significant changes from analog to digital data.
Collation of Information
Collation is organizing written information into a standard order. A common example is alphabetization, which is widely used in office filing systems, library catalogs, and reference books. Collation is based on a total order defined by a sort key.
