Definition of Internet

The Internet, often referred to as the “World Wide Web,” is a vast and intricate global network comprising interconnected computer networks. It utilizes the Standard Internet Protocol Suite, denoted as TCP/IP, to facilitate communication among billions of users spanning the entire globe.

This intricate web of networks encompasses a myriad of private, public, academic, business, and governmental networks, ranging from local to global in scope. These networks are interconnected through a diverse array of electronic and optical networking technologies. In essence, the Internet is a colossal collection of interconnected computers, all functioning harmoniously to share information across the world. It stands as the largest computer network ever created.

The Internet Browser

An Internet browser, or simply a “browser,” represents a software application designed to retrieve, display, and navigate information resources available on the World Wide Web. These information resources are uniquely identified by Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs/URLs) and can encompass web pages, images, videos, and various other forms of digital content.
