DiscussionsCategory: Agricultural ScienceIs sunlight the only source of light for photosynthesis?
Cliff ImasuenClassHall Instructor Staff asked 2 years ago

Plants manufacture their own food from light in a process called photosynthesis. Plants convert carbon dioxide from air and water into simple sugars. These sugars produce the required fuel for a plant’s growth.

Is sunlight the only kind of light that can trigger this process? Can man-made lights such as lights from electric bulbs be used to simulate sunlight that can make photosynthesis happen?
