SECTION A: OBJECTIVE TEST

SECTION B: ESSAY

Question 1 (a) (Award ½ mark each. Total  = 2 marks)

simple tense form

  • I eat
  •  He eats         

 ii Complex tense form

  • My brother has travelled abroad
  •  The student has been working on the project since last year

  Question 1 (b) (1/4 mark each= ½mark)               

Poor – Rich

Skinny – Fat

Question 2 (a) (1 mark)

Phrasal verbs are idioms with special meanings different from the meaning of a verb and preposition. This is so because the two words constitute a grammatical unit that cannot be separated.

Question 2 (b) (1½mark each)

Examples: take off, account for, call on, clean up, fall out, break up.
