Cattle belong to the group of mammals known as Bovidae. Thye are ruminants which are reared for meat, milk hide and skin, and for work.
Breeds of Cattle
1. Beef Cattle:
This type of breed are reared purposely for meat. Examples include;

2. Dairy Cattle:
This type are reared purposely for milk. Examples include;
- White Fulani
- Jersey
- Red poll

3. Dual-purpose Cattle:
They are reared for both meat and milk production. Examples include;
- Muturu
- Biu
- Azawal
- Shuwa
