Meaning of Communication

Communication is the process of exchange or transmission of meaningful information, feelings, opinions and ideas from one person to another or from one place to another. It is a two–way process which involves sending and receiving of messages.

 

Communication Networks

This has to do with various means by which information are sent and received. They include the following:

1. Tele-communication:

It is the technology used in sending signals, images, and messages over long distance by telephone and satellite. This includes the use of telephone services, cellular phones, voice mails etc.

2. Postal services:

This involves both postal and payment services to the public through post office. Various postal services are: ordinary letters, parcel post, registered letters, express letter, private boxes and bags, business reply service, telegrams agency service, etc.
