OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:

sort objects.
PERIODS 3 and 4:
sort numbers and shapes.
PERIODS 5 and 6:
use pictograms to answer questions.
PERIODS 7 and 8:
draw and use block graphs to answer questions.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS:
Charts showing pictograms and block graphs
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE:
Pupils can put their school bags and lunch bags in groups
PRESENTATION:
STEP 1: Revision
- Teacher gives pupils some numbers and asks them to identify the odd and even numbers.
STEP 2: Introduction
- Teacher gives pupils bottle covers and asks them to sort according to colour.
STEP 3: Development Content
PERIODS 1 and 2
- Teacher gives the meaning of data.
- Teacher guides pupils to sort kitchen utensils into a table.
