Definition of Projectiles
Projectile refers to the motion of a body which travels freely in space but under the influence of gravity and air resistance. When a ball is kicked into the air, it will travel through space in a plane. The motion in a plane is a combination of upward and horizontal motion.
The path through which a projectile travels is called trajectory.
Examples of Projectiles
In sports;
- Throwing of discus
- Throwing of javelin
In warfare;
- Firing of catapult
