In the previous week, we learnt that stress is the relative degree of force or emphasis given to a particular syllable or word to make it stand out. English word is dynamic and demands a great deal of study to be able to identify the syllable that bears the primary stress. We should revisit the lesson on stress on Week above. In this lesson, we are concerned with words of six syllables stressed on the fifth. Good dictionaries would be of great aid to learning this.

- It is advisable to use a good dictionary to find out the correct stress pattern of every new word you come across and be eager to pronounce such a word accordingly to get the correct pronunciation.
