TOPIC: Clusters of Two Consonants Occurring in the Final Position

Cluster of consonant sounds occurs in many English words. However, in some consonant sounds, it is easy to identify the cluster of consonant sounds by merely looking at the written form of the words. A consonant cluster occurs when more than one consonant is placed together without an intervening vowel sound.

A number of cluster combinations are possible at the end of a word and these possibilities are a result of inflectional endings to express plurality and tense in regular nouns and verbs respectively.
